Holy Cross Water

The Source of All Flavor

The source of Acqua Santa Croce takes its name from the Fonte Santa Croce (or Fonte del Fiuggino), and is located in Abruzzo, specifically in the Roveto Valley, in Canistro, on Colle Cotardo, about 800 meters above sea level.

Once known as Fonte del Cotardo or Fonte del Fiuggino, it is a mineral-rich water that flows from a protected and uncontaminated environment: the Roveto Valley, to be precise.

This pure water, one of the lightest in Europe, is used for all our products, from mushroom cultivation to their processing. Every stage of our work is imbued with this lifeblood. It is, in fact, the secret ingredient that gives unmistakable flavor and quality to everything we create and process.

Our Mushrooms

From the Greenhouse to the Table

Our greenhouses aren't just places where we grow, but real hotbeds of flavor, where extraordinary mushrooms come to life.

We grow a wide variety of species with passion and dedication, including Agaricus, Shiitake, Pleurotus, Galletto, Pioppino and Cardoncello, using a natural and sustainable method based on hay bales.

Thanks to this technique and the use of Santa Croce water, we guarantee fresh and tasty mushrooms, free from chemical treatments, ready to be enjoyed, or transformed, into our delicious products.

The Truffle Grounds

Black Gold & White Gold

We're proud to introduce you to our truffle grounds, both for black truffles and the prized white truffle, the true gems of Abruzzo.

However, the real magic lies not only in the truffle hunt, but also in the passion of our trusted Lagotti. These dogs, trained and raised with us, are an integral part of our family and guide us with intuition and love in the search for every single truffle.

It is a hunt that combines tradition, respect for nature, and a deep bond with our animals.

Home-produced honey

Yellow Gold

The fresh mountain air and lush flora of the Roveto Valley are the secrets of our honey. Our bees feed on the wildflowers and plants typical of our area, including the famous Roscetta Chestnut, an iconic product of our region. The result is a pure and authentic artisanal honey, offered in two distinctive varieties: the classic Millefiori, which captures the aromas of an entire meadow, and the robust Chestnut Honey, which celebrates the unmistakable flavor of this traditional fruit.

Chestnut Festival

Little Red Roscetta

The Roscetta Chestnut Festival in Canistro Inferiore, held since 1978, is the valley's oldest event and celebrates the local chestnut. Every year, on the last weekend of October, the program includes impromptu painting, hikes through the chestnut groves, and the famous chestnut conference, complete with traditional lunches and folk games.

The festival strengthens the bond between chestnuts and the "Santa Croce" water, which characterize the area, attracting an ever-growing crowd each year, fascinated by the natural beauty and local flavors.
